And in the blue corner………..

On Friday 6 February evening, it was great for staff and friends to see Leon win his boxing bout at Scotswood Boxing Club. Leon, who fights out of the Westerhope Boxing Club, had his fifth contest and showed great resilience and maturity to win the three-round competition.

In front of over two hundred spectators, Leon met his 67Kg weight and boxed with confidence and calmness, showing his experience in the ring. Leon won the contest with an unanimous decision, making his opponent receive two standing counts.

Leon was delighted and so proud of his achievement. On Friday morning, Leon said he woke feeling very calm and confident that he would win. He was coached and encouraged by his Westerhope Corner and Leon was delighted to see some friends and staff in the crowd, cheering him on.

Parkside House School are so pleased and proud of Leon, as he has shown fantastic courage, resilience and commitment to gain this win. Everyone at school is looking forward to the next event.
