The Senior Leadership Team at Parkside House School is committed to maintaining a nurturing, inclusive environment where every pupil can succeed. Integrated clinical support informs our work, guided by a trauma-informed approach that places wellbeing and relationships first. We understand the concerns and worries of parents and caregivers, who can be assured of a warm welcome and an empathetic response. Behaviour is understood as a form of communication and all staff work together to enable the healthy physical, social, and emotional development of each student.

Ruth Lamb – Occupational Therapist
Ruth is an Occupational Therapist and Sensory Integration (SI) Practitioner at Parkside House School who joined Outcomes First Group (OFG) in May 2026.
Ruth has over 10 years of experience working with children and young people across the North East. She began her career within an independent Occupational Therapy service, supporting children across a range of educational settings and working within a specialist Sensory Integration Clinic. During this time, Ruth developed extensive experience in assessing and supporting sensory processing differences and helping children participate successfully in everyday activities.
Ruth later moved into the NHS, where she worked within a Neurodevelopmental Team, contributing to Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) assessments, alongside supporting the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people. She subsequently worked within a Community Occupational Therapy Team, supporting children, families and schools with fine motor skills, independence, participation in daily activities and access to learning.
Ruth is passionate about building trusting relationships and working collaboratively with students, families and staff to create supportive environments where young people feel safe, understood and able to thrive.
Ruth’s role focuses on helping students better understand their sensory, emotional and physical needs, whilst developing practical strategies that promote wellbeing, independence and engagement in learning. She believes that every young person deserves to feel valued, empowered and supported to achieve their full potential.
