Home News & Events Leon’s First Boxing Match
We would love to share with everyone, how proud we are of one of our pupils here at Parkside House School. Leon took part in his first boxing match. Family, friends, and staff attended, and we were all overwhelmed with how proud we were of the student and thought he needed the recognition he deserved for representing his club and school so well.
Leon’s first boxing match Commentary by Mr Turnbull
It was a night of grit, determination, and heart. In his debut boxing match, Leon entered the ring with confidence and nerves swirling in equal measure. From the sound of the opening bell, he commanded the first round with quick footwork, sharp jabs, and a determination that rattled his opponent. His punches connected cleanly, showcasing the skills he had honed in training. He dominated the round, gaining an early advantage and catching the attention of the crowd.
However, the second round brought a harsh reality. Early on, a powerful hook from his opponent broke his nose, but Leon refused to back down. Despite the pain, he stood tall and continued to fight with remarkable resilience. Bloodied but undeterred, he pressed forward, landing blows of his own and showing tremendous heart.
By the third round, exhaustion began to set in, and the injury took its toll. His opponent found openings, and though Leon lost the round, his performance was nothing short of phenomenal. He fought through adversity and pain, earning the respect of everyone in the arena. Though the scorecards didn’t go in his favour, his courage and spirit left a lasting impression.
Leon was supported by his family, friends and staff of Parkside House School. All of which he represented fantastically well. We are all so proud of Leon’s effort and determination and this was celebrated in school with his favourite mint aero cheesecake!
