National Fitness Week 16th – 20th September
National Fitness Week in Schools is an event designed to encourage students and staff to engage in physical activities and adopt healthy lifestyle habits. This annual event emphasizes the importance of physical fitness, wellness, and health education across all age groups.
Objectives of National Fitness Week in Schools:
- Promote Physical Activity: Encouraging students to move and engage in exercises to foster a healthy lifestyle.
- Increase Awareness: Educating students about the benefits of fitness, proper nutrition, mental health, and overall well-being.
- Inclusive Participation: Ensuring that students of all abilities and fitness levels can take part in the activities.
- Build Lifelong Habits: Instilling positive attitudes towards physical activity and wellness that can carry into adulthood.
Throughout the week in Parkside House School the students took on daily fitness challenges to compete for the title of ‘The Fittest Form’! There was good engagement from the students despite the challenges being completed first thing in the morning! The students also enjoyed a day to wear active wear at the end of the week and a healthy lunch too.
Enrichment time for each tutor class was to be focused on being active. This was achieved by each tutor class and some highlights were the Sunshine rooms walk in the forest, M2’s table tennis competition and N2’s football game at Goals.
All the students have done exceedingly well, and I want to thank all the students for their engagement throughout the week and hopefully continue to be physically active.
