Home News & Events Litter Picking for Environmental Pride Week
As part of Environmental Pride Week, pupils and staff at the Ashington site came together to take part in a local community litter pick, demonstrating their commitment to caring for the environment and protecting local wildlife.
Working together, pupils and staff collected litter from the surrounding local area and around the nearby lake. This important activity helped to improve the appearance of the community while also reducing potential hazards to wildlife and their natural habitats. Pupils learned about the impact that litter can have on animals, plants, and waterways, and discussed the importance of taking responsibility for keeping shared spaces clean and safe.
Throughout the litter pick, pupils showed excellent teamwork, enthusiasm, and respect for their environment. They took pride in making a positive contribution to their local community and gained a greater understanding of how small actions can have a significant impact on protecting the natural world.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to develop their environmental awareness while actively supporting the wellbeing of local wildlife and helping to create a cleaner, greener community for everyone.
