27th November 2025

WORLD KINDNESS DAY

Every year on the 13th of November people around the world recognise and raise awareness in promoting acts of kindness. It is acknowledged and celebrated to help us remember the positive impact kindness can have. It encourages individuals to practice kindness in their daily lives.

It doesn’t need to be a grand gesture, it can be as simple as sharing a smile, holding a door open for someone, or saying a few words of encouragement. It highlights the importance of empathy, understanding, and cooperation to create a more friendly, caring world.

Positive actions towards others can encourage more good acts and nurture a safe and supportive culture in school

Here at Parkside House school, we observed World Kindness Day across both of our sites by putting up displays and posters encouraging students and staff team to celebrate one of our school rules which is ‘be kind’.

Tutor time was dedicated to discussing World Kindness Day and although this is an annual dedicated day to reflect and think about our actions, its not just for this one day alone. World Kindness Day is a reminder that kindness helps create a positive environment where everyone feels valued. By choosing to be kind to someone we can inspire others to do the same and brighten someone’s day.

Staff and students were asked to consider some of their thoughts and actions whilst writing them down in an ‘Our Kindness Jar’ which they could chat about.

Several tutor groups took the opportunity to fill in their jars and give them to Miss Towse to add to her final display. Here is a picture of some of the students in BV1 writing messages in their tutor group ‘Kindness Jar ‘

The students in class BM1 showed their appreciation of ‘World Kindness Day’ choosing to celebrate, with a very kind gesture, making their own friendship bracelets, to share students and staff.

Miss Towse would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ once again for everyone’s support.
