20th October 2025

Celebrating World Mental Health Awareness Day

‘Hello Yellow’

‘Standing up for positive Mental Health’

World Mental health day is celebrated on October the 10th every year.

This year we celebrated World Mental Health Day supporting the ‘Young Minds’ campaign ‘Hello Yellow’ by standing up for mental health and wearing something yellow.

A Hello Yellow display and posters were placed on both the Ashington and Backworth school sites to inform every one of the importance and the significance of the day.

Many of the students and staff team wore yellow to show young people they are not alone with their mental health.

We understand that the world can be a tough place for children and young people to grow up in, and this can result in feeling increased anxiety and pressure.

Mental Health, like physical health is important everyday however World Mental Health Day is a great opportunity for us to come together to talk about mental health.

We hope by raising awareness and showing support, we can show everyone they don’t need to struggle alone at any time. We are always here for them.

Everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a yellow home-made cupcake too and I can assure you these went down very well.
