Some pupils went to Bay Games boardgame café in Whitley Bay to play Dungeons and Dragons.
On this trip they successfully used public transport and were polite and safe to the public and to staff at Bay Games. During the game they were able to develop social skills through roleplay, as well as strategic and teamworking skills through the game’s combat, puzzle solving and character interaction dynamics, reasoning skills in learning top use their character sheets and in solving the puzzles and working out how to progress the story, and creativity through developing their character personalities and contributing to the collectively created story of the game (within the scenario and frame established by the game master).
And just to be clear, the pupil with his head on the table isn’t asleep, but under a sleep spell…as part of the game…honest!
